GENERAL AUDITIONS

TIME TO TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR AUDITION!

We've updated our process for considering new talent. Please submit a self-tape or a link to your reel for principal work consideration. We want to see you performing on camera in the medium you'll audition for.

Here are some simple guidelines:

  1. Video Length: Keep it under 3 minutes. Showcase your best performance—how you see yourself professionally. It doesn’t need to be a high-budget production; a smartphone video is fine. Just ensure good lighting and sound.

  2. File Format: Send one link or a video file in .mp4 or .m4v format.

  3. Framing: Film in a close-up (head and shoulders). Ensure good lighting and clear audio.

  4. Smartphone Tips: Film horizontally (landscape), not vertically. Ensure your slate is also shot horizontally.

Once ready, email your video to heerygeneralauditions@gmail.com with the following info:

  • Name

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • City or nearest metro area

Attach your photo (as .jpg) and resume (as .pdf) labeled with your name (e.g., johndoephoto.jpg and janedoeresume.pdf).

Important Notes:

  • Only submit content that is appropriate and professional. We reserve the right to reject offensive material.

  • Submitted videos are for internal use only and won’t be shared publicly.

  • This is for general auditions, not specific project requests.

If successful, we’ll confirm receipt. No need to follow up.

BACKGROUND TALENT HANDY HINT

At Booking:

  • Confirm you're available for the full day (14-16 hours). Don't commit if you can't complete it.

  • Keep your contact info updated and your phone on. Extras are often booked last-minute.

  • Ensure your CAP account is current (sizes, vehicle, contact info).

  • Know your union status. Non-union extras may get waivers, but you have a limited number.

  • Read all booking info carefully:

    • Wardrobe: Follow specific clothing guidelines (avoid black, white, red, logos).

    • Location & Call Time: Be on time; lateness can lead to dismissal. Call times are usually released late the night before.

On Set:

  • Bring ID (Driver’s License + Social Security card or passport). Non-US citizens need a green card/work permit.

  • Leave valuables at home, but bring something to do during downtime.

  • Stay near your wrangler and avoid wandering.

  • Keep your phone on vibrate, and no cameras allowed.

  • If your car is used in the shot, ensure it’s full of gas. Props may also be requested.

Pay:

  • Most productions use an electronic payroll system. Fill out your info via the provided link.

  • After wrapping, approve and download your pay voucher. A check will be mailed within 2-3 weeks.

  • For payroll issues, contact the payroll company listed on your voucher.

  • Payment won’t be released without required ID.

Note:

  • Non-union projects may have different payment processes. You’re responsible for submitting an invoice to the producer. Make sure to get billing details at booking.
